Nahyan bin Mubarak opens the forum of thinkers and creators to enhance the national identity

Dubai, September 16/ WAM/ His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund of the Watan, opened the Forum “Thinkers and Creators and their role in supporting the national identity”, which was organized by Al -Watan Fund in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, in the presence of a group of officials, and more than 1,200 participants from writers, artists, researchers and students.

His Excellency stressed in his main speech that the efforts of the Al -Watan Fund are based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, which always confirms that interest in national identity is a top priority in national action, noting that the state is keen to support efforts that achieve this at all levels.

His Excellency expressed his pride in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, describing it as a “pioneering cultural and knowledge beacon” that contributes to achieving the UAE’s goals in empowering an advanced cultural movement.

He explained that the forum aims to enhance the relationship between the Fund of the Watan and the creative community, including writers, artists and writers, in a way that contributes to enriching the cultural and artistic content related to the Emirati identity, values ​​and principles.

His Excellency stressed that the Emirati national identity is an Arab Islamic and international identity that combines stability and flexibility and enhances human affiliation and openness to different cultures.

He pointed out that the identity constitutes the spiritual food in which the unity of society is achieved and is part of the soft power of the state, stressing the need to deal with it as a national wealth that must be preserved and sponsored.

His Excellency called on the UAE creators to provide works that increase vitality and activity in the areas of creativity related to the national identity, stressing that the Fund Al -Watan will provide material and moral support through incentives, grants, prizes, honoring parties and spreading distinguished works.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan pointed to the launch of a website to receive the proposals and initiatives of the creators with the aim of providing an opportunity for them to contribute to supporting the national identity.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Al -Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, stressed that the Emirati national identity will remain strong and sustainable thanks to the wise visions of the wise leadership, praising the great efforts made by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan in promoting the national identity through his long career in education, culture, tolerance and coexistence.

His Excellency said that the Emirati identity mixes the originality derived from the Arab, Islamic and local heritage and its values ​​and history that we cherish and contemporary open to the global knowledge and civilizational product, indicating that this identity is embodied in the balance between human heritage and modern achievements in the state.

He praised the role of the homeland Fund in supporting the UAE creators and enriching the cultural and artistic scene in a way that enhances the national identity.

The first session of the forum, titled “The role of creators in promoting national identity”, witnessed a wide interaction from the attendees, including writers, artists and researchers, as Dr. Ali bin Tamim, director of the Abu Dhabi Center for Arabic, which praised the role of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in embracing this event that combines creativity, thought and national identity and stressed that the identity with the constants and changes it carries a fertile field of creativity.

The debate also dealt with the importance of cooperation between creators and national institutions such as the Fund Al -Watan, because of this impact on the development of the cognitive product in the quantity and quality, while the artist Ismail Abdullah, President of the theatrical Association, stressed the pivotal role of the Emirati theater in promoting the national identity and the importance of its support.

The plastic artist Khalil Abdel Wahid pointed out the ability of plastic art to express identity, while Emirati photographer Ali Al Sharif explained that photography documents the national identity in a creative framework.

The second session witnessed a review of the initiatives and programs of the Al -Watan Fund and its role in empowering young people and enhancing the national identity with the participation of prominent youth and academic personalities.

The forum also devoted a wide space to the “Our Life in the Emirates” initiative, which brought together more than 500 writers, researchers and university student to participate in writing their experiences and creativity in a way that reflects the depth of belonging and pride in the homeland.
