"Sharjah International Film Film celebrates South Korea cinema
Sharjah, September 19 / WAM / The Fann Foundation will organize at the Fox -City Center Al -Zahia, from 6 to 11 October, the 12th edition of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth under the auspices of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Council for Family and Society, with the aim of providing an innovative platform that brings together films and creators Various parts of the world, celebrate them and enable them to display their cinematic works in front of various segments of society.
The festival version will witness the display of 76 films that were chosen from among 1740 films from 26 countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France, Iran, Indonesia, Bahrain, Russia, India and the Netherlands, in addition to the countries of Sao Tommy, Bersep, Ecuador and Billis, which participates for the first time in the festival, which announced his choice of South Korea to be the guest of honor of the current version.
And the “Fann” Foundation announced the launch of the “World Conference on Children’s and Youth Films”, which is considered an innovative regional platform aimed at highlighting the importance of cinema and its role in shaping the awareness of young people in the Arab world and the challenges facing Arab cinema, and supporting emerging talents.
Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director General of the “Art” Foundation and the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, stressed that the festival, since its inception, constituted an inspiring creative space that contributes to empowering filmmakers and highlighting their fundamental role in developing the local cultural and artistic scene, thanks to the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and supporting his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, noting that the Foundation is keen to care for the owners of talents Young people are creative and culturally, and enabling them to discover their capabilities in the film industry.
She said: We believe in the institution that cinema is a global language capable of uniting peoples and an important tool to instill noble values in the hearts of children and youth, and we seek through the festival to enable creators to share their experiences and creativity with the public, which reflects our obligations to establish a new generation of filmmakers that are characterized by its ability to express his ideas and views and contribute to discussing the issues of his societies.

The jury committees include the festival (16) director and expert in the cinema, the Syrian actress Yara Sabry, the Emirati journalist Mohammed Rashid Al -Salami, Kuwaiti director Dawood Suleiman Al Shuail, Head of the Cinema and Youth Television Department at the Youth General Authority, and the Korean director Jay Hoon Ann, an expert in animation and a ride of Lee (Hyungong Lee), films and multiple films and artist, and a multiple media, based in South Korea Her works combine the poetic and philosophical narration, Sang Young Lee, a prominent cashier, and Salah Al -Hadrami, an Omani film director specializing in documentary and novel cinema.
