For the first time, Britain is listed by the State of Palestine on its maps

The British government spoke to its website maps, which were previously referring to the “occupied Palestinian territories”, to include “Palestine” instead of it.
In an early reference to the changes that occurred as a result of confession, some pages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs changed the reference from the “occupied Palestinian territories” to “Palestine”.
These changes appear on the pages that provide travel advice to Israel and Palestine, in the list of foreign ministry missions abroad, and on the official maps of the region.
This came in the wake of Prime Minister Kiir Starmer’s announcement of the official recognition of the Palestinian state, a step that coincided with similar confessions from Canada, Australia and Portugal.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Starmer announced, yesterday, Britain’s official recognition of the State of Palestine.
He said in a press conference: “In the face of the escalation of terror in the Middle East, we are working to maintain the possibility of peace and the two -state solution.”
He added: “Hamas cannot have a future, no role in the government, and no role in security in any Palestinian state.”
With this, Britain became the third country of the Great Greater Group to recognize a Palestinian state, after Canada and Australia.
The move came a day before a conference held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, where several countries, led by France, are expected to announce their recognition of Palestine.
