President Joseph Aoun: Lebanon is a unique model of religious coexistence

He added that in an area “People are killed because of their religious belief or even because of a faith symbol carrying or expressing it, and in a world of concern stuck between those who want to impose this religious appearance and who wants to block it, Lebanon shows a unique model that is unparalleled and alternative to it. A model that deserves life. Rather, it is the duty to exist for the sake of its region and for the sake of the whole world.”

President Aoun stressed to the United Nations General Assembly that there is a humanitarian duty to preserve Lebanon, “Because if this model falls in living between two religious and completely equal groups, then there is no other place on the ground suitable for repeating this experience.”

The Lebanese President stressed that saving this model requires “A clear and practical supportive position to liberate his land, and to impose the sovereignty of his state alone above it, with his legitimate powers exclusively and otherwise.”

He said that this is what the Lebanese have been agreed upon since the announcement of the ceasefire in late November 2024 to negotiations with the American delegate Tom Barak, “Which has ended in setting a paper to ensure complete stability on our land, we are still committed to its goals, and we hope that those concerned will adhere to our borders.”

However, he said that his country bears great burdens, the first of which is the continuation of an unstable situation on its southern borders. He demanded that the Israeli attacks be stopped immediately, And the withdrawal of the occupation from the entire land, and the release of our prisoners who will not forget them and will not leave them, and apply Security Council Resolution No. 1701 Complete. “

He also stressed that Lebanon is witnessing a state of displacement on its land “It is the largest in history in relation to the population,” However, he said that his country’s bet in this context on its partnership with the United Nations and its competent agencies, and on negotiations with Syria under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to reach understandings that lead to Syria’s restoration of its citizens “Dear Dear”, And the restoration of distinguished relations, good neighborhood and integrated cooperation in various fields, “What goes beyond and erases ambiguities.”

He also referred to the dilemma of reconstruction “What the Israeli aggression against Lebanon threw,” Providing the necessary capabilities for the legitimate armed forces to carry out their duties “In the exclusive defense” About her land.

He concluded his speech by saying: “I am now telling you about peace, while some of my family are killing and some of my lands are destroyed. The conflict is still fierce between Lebanon being a land of life and joy and platform for them to its region and the world, and that it is a hotbed of death and a persuasive wars and a starting point for its spread in all its vicinity. We have settled our decision, and we will embody the first option and implement it. Lebanon.
