Khalifa University organizes a summit on the role of artificial intelligence in the higher education sector

Abu Dhabi, September 24 / WAM / The activities of the “Future of Artificial Intelligence” summit began under the title “Empowering Higher Education”, which lasts for two days, organized by Khalifa University of Science and Technology in cooperation with the company “Nolidge E”, with the aim of highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in making a fundamental change in education methods, and emphasizing the pivotal role of the UAE in building qualified institutions for the future.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Pastages of Norbec, Minister of Science and Higher Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al -Mualla, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and His Excellency Professor Ibrahim Al -Hajri, President of Khalifa University of Science and Technology, with the participation of a group of policy makers, university leaders and international experts.
Among the most prominent activities of the summit is a session for university leaders, His Excellency Professor Ibrahim Al -Hajri, President of Khalifa University, His Excellency Dr. Essam El Din Ajami, Director of Sharjah University, His Excellency Professor Ahmed Ali Al Raisi, Acting Director of the United Arab Emirates University and Professor Todd Larsen, Director of the American University in Sharjah, and Professor Natalie Marceal Baraz, Director of the Sorbon University Abu Dhabi and Professor Timothy Baldwin, Dean of Mohammed bin Zayed University for AI, and the session discussed the role of higher education in supporting the UAE’s strategy in the field of artificial intelligence.
Al -Hajri said, “We welcome science and decision makers in the field of artificial intelligence, and we confirm that academics and researchers in higher education and scientific research institutions constitute the basic pillar that drives innovation in this field.”
In his speech, he referred to the pioneering position occupied by the UAE in the artificial intelligence sector and its leading initiatives, including the inclusion of artificial intelligence is a mandatory material in all stages of government education, to be one of the few countries that set a new global standard for education in this field.
For his part, the speech of Dr. Nader Ghazal, President of the African -Asian Council for AI and Cyber Security, focused on the importance of building bridges of learning based on artificial intelligence techniques.
Professor Christian Kapin, a professor of digital business and chief of childbirth intelligence in Higher Education at SRH in Germany, reviewed the future of learning using obstetric artificial intelligence.
The two -day summit includes 14 simultaneous sessions and workshops covering various topics, starting with the employment of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, to health care, research and creative education management.
Members of the Academic Authority at Khalifa University will participate in their experiences, as well as organizing an application workshop aimed at providing the participants with practical visions on integrating artificial intelligence techniques into higher education.
