Abdullah bin Zayed and Estonia Foreign Minister launch a joint initiative to support Ukraine’s recovery through education, digital skills and entrepreneurship

New York, September 25/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Margos Tskin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, during the work of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, as well as joint initiatives of the UAE and Estonia to support recovery efforts in Ukraine.
The UAE and Estonia signed a joint advertisement to support Ukraine recovery efforts through qualitative initiatives in the fields of education, digital skills, and entrepreneurship. These initiatives reflect the joint commitment of the two countries to support Ukraine and its people, and to invest in youth to build stronger societies and a more prosperous future.
The joint advertisement focuses on three main programs: – EDUHub early – to enable pre -school teachers to follow the methods of modern science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), first aid training, and provide innovative resources to build a safe and comprehensive environment for students in the early stages in Ukraine. Coding Unicorns – to expand programming opportunities and STEM sciences for teenagers and youth, especially girls, through non -class clubs and extensive training programs that are in line with the needs of the labor market. – Future Entrepreneurship Program – to integrate entrepreneurship education in vocational training programs, enabling thousands of students to acquire business skills, financial knowledge and innovation to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine and its economic growth.
On this occasion, His Excellency Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, stated: “This partnership reflects the firm faith of the UAE that investing in the children and youth of Ukraine is an investment in its future. Through cooperation with Estonia, the world leader in digital innovation and education, we aim to enable a generation to rebuild, innovate and prosper.” These initiatives will be implemented in close cooperation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Education, regional authorities, and partners of civil society institutions, in a manner that guarantees local ownership, sustainability and the ability to expand at the national level. Where these joint initiatives confirm the UAE and Estonia’s steadfast support for the long -term recovery efforts, development and reconstruction, while renewing the two countries’ commitment to humanitarian principles, innovation and international cooperation.
The UAE also continues to make efforts to alleviate the humanitarian situation in Ukraine; Since the beginning of the crisis, it provided more than $ 105 million to support humanitarian efforts, and signed cooperation agreements with the Olina Zellinska Foundation to provide additional centers for incubating families and the role of orphans affected by the conflict, and sent relief aircraft carrying more than 1,015 tons of medical, food and relief assistance.
The UAE has also provided 50 ambulances, more than 4,500 electric generations, and two sheep loaded with relief aid to Romania, which benefited more than 1.2 million people, most of them women and children. In addition, the UAE has succeeded in completing 17 mediation operations between Russia and Ukraine, bringing the total number of prisoners released through mediation efforts to 4,641 people.
