“Doctors Without Borders” announces the suspension of its operations in Gaza City

MSF announced on Friday, the suspension of its operations in Gaza City due to the escalation of the Israeli attack.

“We have no choice but to suspend our activities after the Israeli forces codified our clinics,” the organization’s Emergency Coordinator Jacob Grangé said in a statement.

He stressed: “This is the last thing we wanted due to the enormous needs in Gaza, where the most fragile people, from infants in the new births units and those who suffer from severe injuries or diseases that threaten their lives, are unable to move while they are in great danger.”

On September 16, the Israeli army launched a major attack on Gaza City in order to eliminate what is considered the last major stronghold of Hamas.

And Friday, the Israeli army asked the residents of the “Gaza and Sand Port Region” to leave.

The Israeli army announced that it had been hit within 24 hours “more than 140 targets across the Gaza Strip, including terrorists, tunnels and military infrastructure.”

For its part, the Civil Defense Agency in Gaza reported the killing of about 20 people on Friday across the besieged and destructive Palestinian sector, including 11 in Gaza City.
