The Minister of Economy and Tourism and the Prime Minister of the Canadian province of Alberta are looking to enhance cooperation
Calgary – Canada on September 27/ WAM/ His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and His Excellency Daniel Smith, Prime Minister of the Canadian province of Alberta yesterday, discussed ways to enhance economic and investment partnerships, and open broader cooperation prospects in the new economy sectors, especially clean energy, food security, tourism, digital technologies, space and advanced manufacturing.
The meeting also reviewed the opportunities to increase the flow of investments between the two sides, support innovation and find new channels for cooperation between the Emirati and Canadian business community.
This came within the framework of the “Investopia – Alberta” activities hosted by the Canadian city of Calgary, and brought together a group of leaders, officials and senior investors from the two countries to discuss the prospects for economic and investment cooperation in the future sectors.
His Excellency Ibn Touq stressed, during the meeting, that the UAE is continuing to expand its economic partnerships with various countries of the world, praising the progress witnessed by Emirati -Canadian relations, especially with the Alberta province, which is one of the most important economic centers in the fields of clean energy and advanced technologies, pointing out that this cooperation keeps pace with the UAE’s directions to enhance the growth of the new economy and achieve sustainable development.
He said that this meeting constitutes a new step to consolidate the partnership between the UAE and Alberta within the framework of the “Interest -Alberta” activities, as it provides a practical platform for exploring qualitative investment opportunities, and the launch of innovative projects that support the process of shift towards a more diverse and sustainable economy, and enhances the integration of markets and businesses between the two sides.
He pointed out that Investopia, with its dialogue sessions and bilateral meetings, represents a major tool for linking business community in the Emirates and Alberta with promising opportunities in the fastest growing markets, stressing that the outputs of this meeting will contribute to building long -term partnerships that support sustainable economic growth and achieve common interests.
For its part, His Excellency Daniel Smith reviewed what the Canadian province of Alberta abounds, and the promising capabilities and opportunities offered by its people to the partners in the UAE, adding: “We gathered with your friendly country with firm relations and constructive partnership of its pillars. Emissions, and other vital sectors.
She expressed her aspiration to build on this fruitful dialogue, and to explore ways and mechanisms to enhance our commercial and investment relations, in a way that contributes to making a prosperous and advanced future for our people.
The meeting witnessed the discussion of ways to develop economic partnerships between the UAE and Canada, especially the Alberta province in the new economy sectors, including clean energy, food manufacturing technology, modern agriculture, digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
It also dealt with mechanisms to enhance the flow of investments, exchange experiences in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship, which contributes to enhancing sustainable economic cooperation between the two sides.
