The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi meets with the heads of the boards of directors of major Chinese companies

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met with the heads of the boards of directors of major Chinese companies in the sectors of energy, petrochemical industry, sovereign investments, advanced technology, renewable energy solutions and electronic industries, within the framework of strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China, by exploring new horizons for economic and development cooperation between the two countries.

Within these meetings, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Dai Houliang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China National Petroleum Corporation, and the two sides discussed ways to expand the scope of cooperation in the energy sector, clean energy solutions, and strengthen supply chains to support energy security regionally and globally, in addition to exchanging visions about future cooperation opportunities.

His Highness also met with Liao Zhengtai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Wanhua Petrochemical Industries Company, where during the meeting, opportunities for cooperation in the manufacturing sector were reviewed, and the use of modern techniques and advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and achieve industrial sustainability goals.

His Highness discussed with Zhang Qingsong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the China Investment Corporation, the prospects for developing the investment partnership between the two sides, cooperation in exploring promising investment opportunities in the markets of the two countries, and enhancing cooperation in areas of common priority, in a way that serves strategic interests and promotes sustainable development goals.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi met with Robin Zeng, founder and CEO of Amperex Technology (CATL), a leader in renewable energy solutions and battery technologies, where the two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and exchanging knowledge and expertise in the energy storage battery industry to support efforts to enhance the operational efficiency of smart transportation, and the role of advanced technologies in supporting climate neutrality efforts and trends.

His Highness also met with Li Jun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Xiaomi Electronic Industries and Advanced Technology, where the meeting discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of technological innovation and advanced electronic industries, and ways to strengthen the partnership in a way that contributes to supporting digital transformation in various vital and priority sectors in the paths of economic development between the two countries.

The meetings were attended by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Special Envoy of His Highness the President of the State to the People’s Republic of China, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies; Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment; Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Head of the Office of the Crown Prince in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; And Maryam Eid Al Muhairi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Media Office, Strategic Relations Advisor at the Crown Prince’s Court.
