Shocking numbers… Estimates reveal the cost of the American war on Iran

An analysis conducted by a Harvard academic estimated that the cost of war with Iran could cost the US Treasury far more than the official figures indicate.
Professor Linda Bilmes, a public policy expert at the Harvard Kennedy School, said in an internal interview: "I am sure that The cost of war with Iran will reach one trillion dollars"
Her research, published two days before the temporary ceasefire was announced on April 8, identified several reasons why this military operation could have serious consequences for the US national debt in the long term.
According to the briefing The PentagonTo Congress, the cost of the first six days of the joint US-Israeli operation against Iran was about $11.3 billion.
Belms estimates the initial short-term costs at about $2 billion per day during the first 40 days of the actual conflict.
This includes the cost of munitions, troops, and damage to military assets, such as the downing of three F-15 fighter jets.
Belms believes that Short-term costs are higher than they officially appear, as the Pentagon provides figures based on historical prices for inventory, not on the actual cost of replacing these assets today, which is usually much higher.
She said: "These gaps are one reason the reported amount, $11.3 billion, is close to $16 billion, and they reflect a persistent gap between what the Pentagon announces in real time and the true cost of the war."
Meanwhile, the White House asked Congress to increase the US defense budget to $1.5 trillion, representing the largest increase in Military spending since World War II.
This number does not include $200 billion that the Pentagon requested to be allocated to the war in Iran.
