Al -Sisi follows the details of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum

Cairo, September 28 / WAM / Egypt is preparing for the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is the largest civilized edifice dedicated to the Pharaonic monuments in the world, and includes tens of thousands of pieces covering various ancient Egyptian ages, in the presence of a number of leaders of countries and heads of government.
The Grand Egyptian Museum – scheduled to open on the first of next November – includes a huge group of archaeological treasures led by the full presentation of King Tutankhamun’s holdings for the first time in history, as well as tens of thousands of pieces covering various ancient Egyptian ages, with modern exhibition halls that depend on the latest museum and digital interaction techniques.
The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi stressed during his meeting today with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the importance of accurate follow -up of all details on the ground to ensure the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in the way that is worthy of its position.
The spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El -Shennawi, stated that during the meeting, President Al -Sisi reviewed the overall executive and logistical details and arrangements for the various activities of the museum’s opening and the work that was accomplished within the project, as well as the ongoing development in the surrounding area. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities also reviewed the developments of the tourism investment file, noting that the initial indicators reflect a steady growth in the demand for the Egyptian tourism destination from various global markets.
In this context, President Sisi stressed the necessity of the private sector to play a pivotal role in tourism investment in a way that contributes to increasing the number of tourists, developing tourism infrastructure and achieving diversity in the purposes, in addition to setting a marketing plan targeting new markets and maximizing dollar revenues from the tourism sector and the governance of the system to ensure their sustainability. The spokesperson pointed out that during the meeting, the ways to advance the tourism sector and the development of hotel establishments were discussed, especially with regard to facilitating the procedures for transferring land and buildings to hotel activities and increasing vacation apartments in a way that contributes to raising the capacity of the hotel rooms.
At the end of the meeting, President Sisi continued ways to enhance cooperation with UNESCO in the field of protecting and preserving cultural heritage and archaeological sites, as well as efforts to restore, develop and raise the efficiency of services provided to visitors in museums and archaeological sites. The President stressed the importance of applying the principles of sustainable development in managing archaeological sites registered on the World Heritage List, and discussing mechanisms of cooperation with UNESCO to develop an integrated future vision to preserve these sites.
