"Islamic affairs" Imams directed the supplication of Qunoot in prayers based on the Prophet’s guidance in times of crises
Abu Dhabi, 18 March / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in coordination with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai and the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, and in cooperation with the competent authorities in the country, directed all imams of mosques in the country to perform Qunoot in the morning and sunset prayers, following the Prophet’s guidance in times of calamities, adversity and crises, starting on Wednesday, Ramadan 29, 1447 AH, corresponding to the 18th of Ramadan. March 2026 AD.
This directive comes based on the fatwa issued by the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa, asking God Almighty to preserve the UAE and its wise leadership, protect its people and residents of its land, and perpetuate the blessing of security, stability and peace in our country.
