The Liwa Desert in Abu Dhabi features the first teaser for the third part of the movie Dune

Abu Dhabi, 17 March / WAM / Legendary Entertainment has released the official teaser for the third part of the science fiction series, Dune, giving movie fans a long-awaited glimpse of the concluding part of international director Denis Villeneuve’s masterpiece. The film stars an elite group of stars, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaac De Bancoli, Charlotte Rampling, Anna Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem.
The teaser begins its scenes with stunning panoramic shots of the Liwa Desert in Abu Dhabi, which embodies the planet Arrakis in the film, which once again establishes the prominent presence of the emirate in this award-winning international cinematic production, and confirms what was previously announced that Abu Dhabi represents a major location for filming the film, which began production in July 2025. Filming of the work last year comes as an extension of previous production operations in the Liwa Desert for the first and second parts of the film in 2020. 2021 and 2024, and the opening shots highlight the unique desert nature of the emirate and its towering sand dunes, which have become a distinctive symbol of the film.
In conjunction with the launch of the official teaser, the film’s official accounts on social media platforms revealed a group of promotional posts focusing on the characters of the work, and showcasing a number of its confirmed stars.
The third part of the film was supported by the Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, while Image Nation Abu Dhabi participated as a production partner, and Epic Films provided local production services. The business also benefited from the cashback discount program offered by the emirate, which succeeded in attracting more than 180 important film and television productions to Abu Dhabi.
The film is written by Denis Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, and its events are adapted from the timeless classic novel “Dune” by Frank Herbert, while Warner Bros. will distribute it globally in mid-December 2026.
