The Ruler of Sharjah presides over the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Theater

Sharjah, September 30 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Arab Theater Authority, chaired today the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Commission, at the authority’s headquarters in the Al -Hirah area in Sharjah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the presence of members of the Council from various Arab countries, praising His Highness the efforts of the Council in working to develop all of what contributes to the advancement and advancement of the artistic movement, and to activate the theater message and its main roles in the progress and awareness of society.

His Highness the Supreme President of the Arab Theater Authority directed the launch of the “Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Award for theatrical Excellence for Youth”, as an Arab award that cares about the creativity of youth and their efforts in developing the Arab theater, and His Highness also directed the Arab Theater Authority to pay attention to the school theater in Arab countries and work to launch national festivals for theater in Arab schools, and to organize the Arab School Theater Festival that guarantees a wide Arab interaction for the educational movement And the cultural of the school theater, which he relies a lot in the formation of an audience aware of the role of the educational and social theater.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah directed attention to documenting the Arab theatrical memory and paying attention to researchers in the various fields of theater by establishing the Arab Center for Documentation, Studies and Research, which aims to organize and diversify studies and research in the fields of Arab theater and document the historical march of Arab countries, and to expand comparative studies of the Arab theater experience in its humanitarian context.

His Highness pointed to the importance of developing the theater movement at the level of the Arab world, stressing the continued support of His Highness in various fields, including academic qualification of cadres from new and young generations in all artistic and technical specialties, where the Sharjah Academy of Performance Arts provides them with specialized and higher university studies, which enhances the integration of the strategy of developing and refining the talents of artists that the theater and its people need.

His Highness added that Sharjah continues to activate theater through its various theatrical festivals, and the performances of the distinguished theatrical days of Sharjah, pointing to His Highness to allocate an additional permanent budget to display the plays of days during the year in all emirates of the state to reach the public everywhere.

The meeting discussed a number of topics and plans that contribute to the completion of the proposed ambitious projects in the field of theater, through which the authority seeks to contribute the effective to the development of theaters in the Arab countries and the development of the levels of workers in their various specialties, and to provide the necessary aids for them and support them through training workshops, theatrical activities and others.

The meeting discussed the reports of the commission’s business during the last period and what was accomplished at the level of the school theater, which included training teachers and supervisors of theatrical activities and curriculum, which reflects the great attention and the scientific establishment that the authority works and jurisprudence in order to introduce children from school students in the theater and encourage them to engage in artistic and cultural activities from a young age.
