“Sleepings” causes a Dubai truck collision and a driver’s injury

A driver was injured in a collision between two trucks on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Dubai, near the Al Maktoum Airport roundabout towards Abu Dhabi.

Dubai Police confirmed that the initial information showed that the driver of one of the two trucks overcame drowsiness during the driving, which caused him to lose control, and collided with the other truck that was in front of him, which led to the driver’s injury and the cause of heavy traffic congestion on the street, which necessitated the transformation of the movement into alternative ways to ensure the flow of traffic.

Dubai Police warned of the risk of driving vehicles while feeling very tired or drowsy, which leads to serious incidents resulting in severe deaths or injuries.

“Some minor errors may lead to serious and fatal accidents, including sleep while driving, which is one of the main causes of traffic accidents that lead to severe deaths and injuries,” said Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department in Dubai Police.

He added that the traffic accident experts moved to the accident site to conduct the necessary investigations and collect accurate evidence to determine the reasons that led to its occurrence, while the traffic patrols organized traffic, secured the site of the accident, and facilitated the arrival of ambulances and rescue to carry out their tasks and take the necessary measures, and the work teams also moved the affected vehicle and removed it from the road, to ensure the return of traffic to normal in the fastest time.
