Abu Dhabi .. 12,309 buildings completed during the first half of 2025

During the second quarter of this year 2025, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi witnessed the completion of 5767 buildings, including the completion of new construction, along with the amendment and additions, bringing the total achievement in the first two -quarter to 12,309 buildings.

The initial official data issued by the Municipalities and Transport Department and the Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi revealed that the city of Abu Dhabi received the largest share of the number of construction completed in the second quarter after the completion of 4,362 buildings, most of which are a new construction, followed by the city of Al Ain, which completed 1960 buildings, while the Al Dhafra area completed 220 buildings.

The total construction licenses that were issued during the same period reached about 2571 new licenses, distributed according to the purpose of the construction, including commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, public facilities, and others, and the total licenses in the first half amounted to 4994 licenses.

Residential licenses in the second quarter recorded the largest share after the issuance of 1438 licenses, followed by commercial construction licenses with 585 licenses, while 221 construction licenses were registered for public utilities and 208 industrial construction licenses, in addition to issuing 64 building licenses for agricultural uses, and 55 other construction licenses.

With regard to construction licenses according to the regions, during the second quarter of 2025, 1891 construction licenses were issued in Abu Dhabi, distributed by 1046 residential construction licenses, 526 commercial construction licenses, 115 for public facilities, 137 licenses for industrial purposes, 27 agricultural and 40 other licenses.

Building licenses in Abu Dhabi included a license for 1334 new buildings, in addition to issuing 99 licenses for additions and 458 building permit licenses.

Al Ain City recorded 528 new construction licenses during the same period, including 328 residential construction licenses, 61 public facilities licenses, 51 commercial construction licenses, 56 industrial licenses, 19 agricultural and 13 other building licenses, while licenses were divided into a license for 433 new buildings, 67 other buildings and a license for 28 buildings for the purpose of additions.

The Al Dhafra region issued 152 construction licenses, and the largest share of residential licenses was issued by 64 licenses, followed by public facilities with 45 licenses, 18 agricultural construction licenses, 15 industrial construction licenses, 8 commercial licenses, two other licenses, licenses were issued for 140 new buildings, 4 buildings for additions and 8 licenses for modification.
