Session for" Trends" It recommends investing in maritime innovation and expanding international partnerships

Washington on October 7/ WAM/ a strategic session entitled “Unmanned surface ships: the future of maritime security”, organized by the Trends and Consulting Center – the United States Branch (Trends US), is investing in investment in maritime innovation, expanding international partnerships, and adopting more flexible financing mechanisms to accelerate the integration of new technologies in global maritime security systems.

The participants stressed, in the session held in the American capital, Washington, with the participation of a group of former military leaders and experts in the fields of defense and marine technology, that marine deterrence in the twenty -first century is no longer dependent on the size of the fleet, but rather the number, speed and ability to spread smart, noting that unmanned technologies have become a basic pillar in protecting marine corridors and facing increasing threats.

They added that despite the great progress in unmanned marine technologies, organizational and financing obstacles remain the biggest challenge for their development, noting the need to develop institutional support mechanisms and sustainable financing for testing and development experiences, stressing that international cooperation and partnerships are a decisive element in developing and spreading unmanned systems.

The session, which was moderated by Bilal Youssef Saab, the first managing director of “Trends America”, dealt with three main axes, which are the impact of surface ships and uninhabited underwater (USVs and AUVS) on maritime security in the Gulf and other areas, and future prospects for these advanced capabilities and their role in promoting deterrence, and the strategic importance of international and regional cooperation in developing and employing these technologies.
