Jawaher Al Qasimi witnesses the start of the second Sharjah Cultural Forum

Sharjah, October 7 / WAM / The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Family and Society Council, witnessed the second edition of the Sharjah Cultural Forum, which was launched today at the Al -Jawaher Center for events and conferences under the title “A Story link between Qurtas and a pen” with the participation of a number of writers, writers and interested in reviving the history of Arab culture.
The organization of the forum comes as an affirmation of the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah in supporting the cultural movement and consolidating its position is a beacon of thought and creativity through initiatives concerned with enhancing the role of literature and knowledge in building man and society. The event witnessed dialogue sessions and artistic and cultural shows that dealt with the role of the word in promoting national identity and highlighting the importance of writing as a bridge of human and civilizational communication between generations.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi was attended by the opening session of the forum entitled “Harun Al -Rashid between the fall and the opinion of the orientalists”, where she dealt with the features of the Abbasid era as one of the brighter stages in Arab and Islamic history through an intellectual and cultural proposal presented by the researcher Awad bin Hasum Al -Darmaki, who started his speech with an intellectual tour about the most prominent cultural and social features that formed the features of that era. The impact of the scientific, literary and intellectual renaissance witnessed by the Abbasid cities and the role of prominent symbols of scholars, thinkers and writers who contributed to building an exceptional civilization in which thought is mixed with creativity.
Al -Darmaki also touched on the personality of Harun al -Rashid in the writings of the Orientalists and how they dealt with his personality between fairness and prejudice, with his emphasis on the importance of re -reading history based on authentic sources that highlight the true image of the Islamic civilizational achievement in line with the vision of Sharjah represented in the revival of human civilization and the promotion of historical awareness through culture and thought.
The activities of the forum focus in its second edition, which lasts 3 days on the culture of the Abbasid era and its rich heritage in the fields of literature, thought and art with the participation of a group of writers and artists.
The first day began its activities with a musical painting “playing the oud” with the musician Sherine Tuhami, followed by poetic readings with the poet Abdullah Al -Hudah, along with a number of various cultural dialogue sessions.
The activities of the forum included a dialogue session entitled “The most prominent cultural features in the Abbasid era”, during which Dr. Muhammad Al -Mazouri presented a session entitled “The House of Wisdom and Cultural Salons” in which he reviewed the centers of intellectual radiation that formed the features of the renaissance at the time, foremost of which is the House of Wisdom, which represented the peak of the prosperity of knowledge, translation and scientific research as well as cultural salons that served as spaces for dialogue and exchanging thought among scholars Writers and poets.
Dr. Hessa Al -Ketbi also dealt with in the session “The Impact of Abbasid Literature on Contemporary Literature” the aesthetic and linguistic dimensions that modern literature inherited from the Abbasid poets and writers and concluded the first day with a session “Reading in the Book of the Early Abbasid Age” presented by Issa Youssef and Dr. Atef Mansour, during which they highlighted the intellectual transformations that accompanied the beginnings of the Abbasid era and its contribution to the formulation of the cultural scene Subsequent.
The Sharjah Cultural Forum includes a group of various cultural dialogues and sessions that focus on literary and artistic creativity in the Abbasid era and the development it witnessed in the areas of poetry, music, thought and philosophy aimed at inspiring new generations to see the legacy of the past and benefit from its cultural thought and its creative aesthetics.
