Iran reports a state of bird influenza in poultry

The World Animal Health Organization said today, Tuesday, quoting a report issued by the Iranian authorities that Tehran had reported a state of the EH5 BN 1 of the highly infected bird flu in the north of the country.

The organization pointed out that the virus spread led to the death of 10 birds out of a group of 90 birds. She added that all other birds were slaughtered.

The spread of bird flu has raised concerns between governments and the poultry sector after it has hit large numbers of poultry birds around the world during the past few years, which led to the disruption of supplies, high food prices and an increase in the risk of infection to humans.
