Handicrafts attract the interest of visitors to the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025

The Artisans Corner was witnessed at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, which is organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority under the slogan "Riyadh is reading"a wide turnout of visitors who came to enjoy the traditional arts Natural wool to make decorative paintings with colors inspired by the desert environment, carrying between its threads symbols of heritage.
While Amani Al-Subaie presented a group of heritage artistic works and sculptures that mixed authenticity and contemporaneity, to reread the Saudi heritage with an artistic touch that combines the aesthetic dimension and cultural connotations.
In turn, Falwa Abdullah caught the attention of visitors with her work in the wicker craft, which is based on weaving palm fronds to produce household utensils and artistic decorations that express the Saudi environment rich in its natural diversity, presenting artistic models that highlight the manual skill for which this craft is known.
Umm Al-Fahd attracted the audience with her presentation of the weaving craft, and embodied stories that express their traditional colors and fabrics. About the spirit of place and belonging to Saudi heritage.
Year of Handicrafts
The participation of female craftswomen within the exhibition’s activities comes in line with the initiative of the Ministry of Culture to designate the year 2025 "General handicrafts"As part of its efforts to empower Saudi craftsmen and craftswomen, document the craft heritage, and motivate new generations to learn and sustain it, in a way that contributes to transforming traditional crafts into a cultural and economic resource that reflects the Kingdom’s identity and cultural depth, and keeps pace with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
