Netanyahu: The Israeli army will remain in Gaza to pressure Hamas until it lays down its weapons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israeli forces will remain in the Gaza Strip to pressure Hamas until it lays down its weapons. 

Netanyahu added – in a statement published by Hebrew media this afternoon after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza entered into force – that the war is not over yet, and that Israel faces great challenges and opportunities.

He indicated that he faced great internal pressure. And externally during the war on the Gaza Strip, considering that the agreement includes later stages of disarming Hamas and turning the Strip into a demilitarized spot. 

He stressed that all Israeli detainees will return to their families within the next few days, considering that he succeeded in breaking the Iranian axis and eliminating the Iranian nuclear program.
