The University of Sharjah achieves third place globally in international outlook according to the Times World Classification 2026

Sharjah, 12 October / WAM / The University of Sharjah has achieved an outstanding academic achievement in the Times World Classification of Higher Education Institutions for the year 2026, achieving remarkable progress in the indicators of the quality of scientific research and international outlook, as it ranked third globally in the indicator for the international outlook standard and jumped to 47th place globally in the quality of scientific research, ahead of its position in the same classification last year, while maintaining its position. It is among the top 350 universities in the world, thus continuing to strengthen its position among the most prominent regional and international universities.

Dr. Essam Al-Din Ajami, Director of the University of Sharjah, congratulated on this occasion His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, praising His Highness’s vision in consolidating the university’s position as a global research institution that contributes to the production and localization of knowledge.

He added that the university’s achievement of third place globally in the international outlook standard is an achievement that reflects the diversity and academic openness that the university enjoys, which creates an environment rich in intellectual and cultural diversity, as the university attracts students and faculty members from more than 100 countries around the world, and this in turn contributes to preparing graduates capable of working in multicultural environments and enhances their competitiveness in the global labor market.

Regarding the university’s achievement of 47th place globally in the quality of scientific research, he said that the university’s advance of 6 places over last year’s ranking in the scientific research quality index reflects the great investment that the university makes in the scientific research system by providing a stimulating research environment, supporting researchers with the latest laboratories and laboratories, and encouraging publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

The Times Higher Education Ranking is one of the most reliable international rankings in measuring the performance of universities around the world, as it is based on precise standards and indicators that include the quality of education in terms of the learning environment and the scientific research environment in terms of size, reputation, funding, quality of research, its scientific impact, and the transfer of knowledge to industry, in addition to the international outlook that measures the diversity of cadres and students and global research cooperation.
