Sawiris reveals his position on supporting Zamalek financially in light of the financial crisis
Businessman Samih Sawiris confirmed, during his meeting with media personality Lamis Al-Hadidi on the “Last Word” program, that although he has belonged to Zamalek since his childhood, he is not thinking about supporting the club financially at the present time, indicating that the decision is linked to the extent of clarity and stability of the club’s management.
Sawiris said: “The period in which someone was supposed to help was full.” A mistake, whether from the club management or from the state itself.” He added: “I am one of the people who do not run as soon as they hear something. I have to see the whole picture and make sure.”
He explained that the reason for his abstention from financial support is the absence of an integrated system within the club in previous periods, stressing: “I will not get involved in anything that does not have a system or Accounting, like the charitable organizations that talk to us, if the project is good but there is no management or oversight, I will not enter into it.
With regard to the current administration, Sawiris said that it is “really better.” than its predecessor, but it still needs time to prove itself, adding: “We must wait 3 or 4 years and see whether there is continuity and order from top to bottom or not.”
