"Sharjah Heritage" Exploring cultural cooperation with Burkina Faso

Sharjah, 15 October / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, during his meeting today at the institute’s headquarters, His Excellency Dr. Suleiman Konate, Ambassador of the Republic of Burkina Faso to the country, and his accompanying delegation, discussed aspects of cultural and knowledge cooperation between the two sides, and opening new horizons for partnership in the fields of intangible heritage and cultural exchange.

Dr. Al-Musallam accompanied the visiting delegation on an introductory tour of the Institute’s corridors, where the delegation was briefed on the Institute’s efforts in implementing its vision of preserving, preserving and transmitting cultural heritage to generations, through its educational and research programs and its various projects in the fields of training, documentation, and popular heritage, in addition to the international initiatives it implements under the umbrella of “UNESCO.”

Al-Musallam stressed that the cultural relations between Sharjah and the countries of the African continent are deepening thanks to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, calling for building bridges of cultural dialogue with friendly peoples. He explained that the Institute welcomes cooperation with cultural institutions in Burkina Faso in the areas of documenting folk tales, exchanging experiences in preserving intangible heritage, and organizing heritage weeks. And mutual exhibitions.

For his part, Ambassador Konate praised the pioneering role played by Sharjah in preserving human heritage and spreading the culture of dialogue among civilizations, stressing his country’s aspiration to build sustainable cooperation with the Sharjah Heritage Institute in the fields of scientific research, training and exchange of experts.

The meeting was attended by a number of department directors at the institute, and a number of officials from the Burkina Faso embassy in the country.
