"Hungarian" Initiative highlights "Technology for good" during "Jetex"

Dubai, 15 October / WAM / The National Fund for Social Responsibility “Majar”, ​​during its participation in the “GITEX Global 2025” exhibition, highlighted the “Technology for Good” initiative launched by the Fund to support innovation and develop technical solutions that enhance work for humanity and achieve a sustainable societal impact in the UAE.
According to a press release issued today, Majra’s participation in the exhibition this year comes within its vision to employ technology and artificial intelligence in the service of sustainable development, and to expand partnerships with government and private agencies, the fourth sector, and the academic sector, in a way that consolidates the country’s position as a global center for responsible innovation.
The activities of the Majra pavilion highlighted its new projects within the national campaign “The Emirates is the Entrepreneurial Capital of the World”, highlighting the ongoing initiatives of Majra in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable impact. In addition, “Majara” signed three new memorandums of understanding with the sustainable impact committees in the emirates of Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism. In this context, we are keen, through “Majara”, to continue working to develop qualitative initiatives and build new partnerships that enhance the country’s trends in supporting responsible innovation and the transition towards a sustainable economy.
He continued: “Majara’s” new partnerships with the Sustainable Impact Committees in the Emirates of Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman constitute an important step towards enhancing community empowerment, social entrepreneurship activities, and creating sustainable solutions by training and qualifying entrepreneurs, supporting emerging entrepreneurial projects, and consolidating the culture of social innovation, which contributes to opening broad horizons for economic and social growth in the Emirates.
He noted that the digital projects and initiatives launched by the Fund during its participation in the exhibition represent a qualitative shift towards the localization of technology, entrepreneurship, and the use of artificial intelligence techniques in the field of social responsibility, through the development of innovative and diverse digital platforms that contribute to enhancing societal sustainability, empowering individuals and institutions, and expanding the scope of positive impact on society.
Majra signed the first memorandum of understanding with the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Saeed bin Suroor Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Chamber and Member of the Federal National Council, and represented by His Excellency Sultan Al-Hindassi, Director-General of the Chamber. The memorandum includes the launch of the Community Entrepreneurs Programme, which is the first of its kind in the Emirate of Fujairah, and aims to support and finance fourth sector institutions and emerging community projects, thus contributing to the creation of new economic opportunities. And promoting social innovation in the emirate.
As for the second memorandum of understanding, the Fund signed it with the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Ali, Director General of the Chamber, to establish an entrepreneurship center in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, which is concerned with incubating and accelerating emerging projects, and providing training and employment grants for youth and entrepreneurs in the emirate.
The center will be established in the new Umm Al Quwain Chamber building to be a stimulating platform for innovation, creativity, pioneering ideas, and promising national projects, in line with the vision of the Umm Al Quwain government and the UAE to support and empower entrepreneurs, and to embody the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” in promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and building an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
His Excellency Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed the third memorandum of understanding, and it comes within the comprehensive plan of “Majra – The National Fund for Social Responsibility”, as it aims to encourage industrial sector establishments in the Emirate of Ajman to adopt clean energy solutions, and to enhance the emirate’s position in this vital sector, especially as it includes 1,549 industrial establishments by the end of 2024, in a way that supports efforts to transform towards… Sustainability and keeps pace with state trends.
Sarah Shaw, Executive Director of “Majara”, confirmed that these new partnerships represent a qualitative step towards promoting sustainable development and activating societal impact through cooperation between the various public, private, academic and civil society sectors, which represents the main engine for achieving a sustainable and tangible impact in the long term, noting that “Majara” continues its leadership in unifying and expanding sustainable impact initiatives at the state level through the system. Integrated digital.
During its participation in the exhibition, in cooperation with Newell, Majra launched a digital platform for network management and artificial intelligence, where a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides, aiming to expand the scope of the use of artificial intelligence and study its applications in building professional networks and reconciling entities, companies and individuals in the areas of social responsibility and sustainability.
The platform enables users to build a wide interactive network that acts as a bridge to transform professional ties into fruitful partnerships and real opportunities for growth and development, which contributes to accelerating the implementation of projects with high efficiency and enhancing cooperation rates between the government and private sectors, the academic sector and civil society. The platform also contributes to the development of an integrated digital system that enhances the flow of sustainable impact and opens new horizons for growth for individuals and institutions. The role of the private sector in supporting community initiatives has been consolidated.
“Majara” also gave more than 100 companies participating in the “Sustainable Impact Challenge 2025” an exceptional opportunity to participate in the “GITEX Global 2025” activities, which allowed them to learn about the latest artificial intelligence solutions and build strategic partnerships that enhance digital transformation and support the sustainable economy in the country, in line with the Fund’s vision of empowering small and medium-sized companies and enhancing their competitiveness in the areas of responsible innovation.
During the exhibition, the “Majra” pavilion displayed a group of winning projects in the Sustainable Impact Challenge, including projects ready for practical application, including the Wisol Company project, which specializes in smart water purification systems and sustainability, the Terrazzo Company project, which is an initiative to redistribute surplus food in the city of Dubai, the Watt Company project, which is an initiative specialized in recycling electronic waste, as well as the “Salami” electric bike company project. “Made in the Emirates” (SULMI), and its role in consolidating the features of the future of smart vehicles in the Emirates with the local manufacture of its electric bicycle “EB-One”, made entirely with 3D printing technology.
