The Pink Caravan attracts more than 8,500 visitors at Aljada in Sharjah and provides 1,135 tests

Sharjah, 16 October / WAM / The Pink Caravan, one of the initiatives of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, provided 1,135 free medical examinations for early detection of breast cancer as part of the second edition of its community activities held in Aljada in Sharjah under the slogan “A Whole Community is You” in conjunction with World Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

These examinations came after the awareness activities and events organized by the convoy in its large mobile clinic, which included clinical examination and radiological examinations (mammograms) for women aged 40 years and above, with the aim of establishing community awareness of the importance of periodic self-examination for early detection of the disease.

The event witnessed wide community interaction, as it received more than 8,500 visitors, including individuals and families, who enjoyed a range of awareness and creative workshops, in addition to various entertainment and family activities.

Aisha Al-Mulla, Director of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, confirmed that the volume of interaction with the community activities of the Pink Caravan reflects the high level of health awareness among members of society and the keenness to benefit from the health services provided by the Association to spread the culture of early detection.

She said that the event embodied the values ​​of cooperation and integration between government sector institutions, private sector companies and society, stressing that the Friends of Cancer Patients Association and the Pink Caravan will continue to organize initiatives, campaigns and events throughout the year, in addition to strengthening their strategic partnerships with the aim of building a sustainable awareness system that contributes to cancer prevention and limiting its spread.

In this context, the “Irthi” Contemporary Crafts Council, affiliated with the “Sharjah Family and Community Council”, organized interactive workshops that enhanced awareness of traditional Emirati crafts and highlighted their importance, embodying “Irthi”‘s commitment to social responsibility and its mission and goals aimed at highlighting Emirati heritage crafts and encouraging community members to learn and practice them.
