Announcing the winners of the Sharjah Award for School Theatrical Writing

Sharjah, April 21 / WAM / The Sharjah Department of Culture announced the winners of the “Sharjah Award for School Theatrical Composition” for the years 2025-2026, which is organized within the activities of the Sharjah School Theater Festival, following the evaluation of the participating works by a jury that included artists Abdullah Saeed bin Haider, Haifa Al Ali, and Hamid Fares.
The results of the “Male and Male Teachers” category resulted in teacher Khaled Walid Raslan from Abdullah Al-Salem School winning first place for his text “The First Question,” while teacher Ashraf Hosni from the Modern Skills School came in second place for his text “A Call from Within,” and teacher Iman Hamido from Masafi School came in third place for her text “Victory.” The value of the financial prizes for this category amounted to 50 thousand dirhams for first place, and 30 thousand dirhams for first place. Second place, and 20 thousand dirhams for third place.
In the “Male and Female Students” category, student Aisha Al Mazrouei from Al Nahda School won first place for her text “Room 7,” and student Raneem Al Habsi from Al Shoums School came in second place for her text “The Court of Time,” while student Hanan Saeed Khalfan Al Naqbi from Zayed Educational Complex Al Saf came in third place for her text “Memories Store.” The value of the financial prizes in this category amounted to 25 thousand dirhams for first place, and 15 thousand dirhams for first place. AED 10,000 for second place, and 10,000 dirhams for third place.
The award aims to develop theatrical writing skills in the school environment, and encourage students and teachers to be creative, thus contributing to enriching the theatrical movement and building a generation aware of the arts.
