The launch of the activities of the 33rd Arab Music Festival in a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere

The activities of the 33rd Arab Music Festival began at the Cairo Opera House this evening, Thursday, amid a joyful festive atmosphere, organization at the highest level, and a large public turnout that reflects the status that the festival enjoys in the Arab world, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, President of the Egyptian Opera House, and Maestro Mohamed Al-Mogy, in addition to a group of music and singing stars in Egypt and the Arab world, and a large group. Stars of art and society, including the distinguished artist Samira Abdel Aziz and the artist Laila Ezz Al Arab.
The opening ceremony held at the Egyptian Opera House began with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, amid an enthusiastic atmosphere and warm applause from the audience.
The ceremony witnessed the screening of a documentary film entitled “Cairo.” “Hearts” Directed by Samer Madi, it quickly covered the most important stations in the career of Kawkab Al-Sharq, Umm Kulthum, the character of this year’s festival on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her passing. The film also included showing rare clips from her concerts and songs that are still stuck in the minds of the audience.
The Minister of Culture and Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, President of the Egyptian Opera House, honored the artist Amal Maher, who commented She said: “I have received many honors, but this honor is special from my country, from the Arab Music Festival in which I grew up and grew up, and my greatest honor is the love of the audience.”
Amal Maher added: “My honor from the great festival is dear to my heart,” expressing her pride in Egypt as a country. Security and peace, noting that Egypt holds its head high, and always unites people in love and peace, in reference to the “Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Conference”.
10 personalities who contributed to enriching the artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world were also honored, they are Dr. Hisham Sharaf – Jordan, the artist’s name is Naima Samih – Morocco, the name of the poet Al-Hadi Adam – Sudan, the kola player Ibrahim Fathi – Egypt, Dr. Sherine Abdel Latif, professor of Arabic music and dean of the Faculty of Music Education at Helwan University and head of the Scientific Committee – Egypt, the name of the musician and guitarist Jalal Fouda – Egypt, the maestro Hassan Fikry – Egypt, the poet Wael Hilal – Egypt, the composer Khaled Ezz – Egypt, and the singer Amal Maher – Egypt, which receives the honor during the artistic segment of the opening ceremony and is led by Maestro Tamer Fayzy, includes selections from Arab music compositions by the giants of the era of fine art, in addition to a number of its own famous works.
Maestro Mohamed Al-Moji, Vice President of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, delivered a speech during the opening ceremony, in which he stressed the importance and value of the festival. Arabic music, which has become a national artistic event that carries an immortal artistic and humanitarian message, aims to preserve the Arab musical identity and provide new generations capable of continuing the path of creativity.
Al-Muji pointed out that the festival this year comes as an extension of a long process of creativity and loyalty to our singing heritage, and combines authenticity and innovation, and the symbols of Arab art and its promising youth, in a meeting An annual event awaited by music lovers in Egypt and the Arab world.
In his talk, Al-Muji touched on the value of Umm Kulthum, the planet of the East, pointing out that her memory will remain present in every session of the festival, because she is a symbol of authentic Arab singing that shaped the conscience of the nation.
The artist Amal Maher began her singing segment, at the opening ceremony of the 33rd session. The Arab Music Festival was held at the Nafoora Theater in the Cairo Opera House, with the song One Thousand and One Nights by the Star of the East, Umm Kulthum, and she presented a collection of her masterpieces. The opening also witnessed the presentation of a number of singing segments by major artists on the Grand Theater.
A group of major stars are participating in the current session of the festival, including: Medhat Saleh, Ali Al-Hajjar, Omar Khairat, Mai Farouk, Marwa Nagy, Soma, in addition to the return of Muhammad Al-Helou, Muhammad Tharwat, Saber Al-Rubai, and Wael Jassar.
