“Trends” and the Pontifical Institute for Studies “PISAI” cooperate in research and forward-looking studies

Rome, 17 October / WAM / The Trends Center for Research and Consulting, through its virtual office in Rome, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Pontifical Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies “PISAI” in Rome, with the aim of strengthening research and academic cooperation between the two sides, in the areas of preparing research, studies, opinion polls, training, development, consultations, and forward-looking studies in support of efforts to spread and enhance the values of peace and tolerance. For constructive intellectual dialogue, within the framework of his European research tour in Italy.
The memorandum was signed by both sides, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of the Trends Center for Research and Consultation, and Professor Waseem Salman, President of the Pontifical Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Ali Al-Sabousi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, and Monsignor Dr. Youannis Lahzi Jaid, Vatican Secretary of the Public Affairs Department, representative of the Holy See to the Supreme Committee for Human Fraternity, and a group of experts. And researchers from both sides.
The signing of the memorandum came within the framework of the two sides’ efforts to enhance knowledge exchange and build bridges of understanding, through an in-depth and objective study of current regional and international issues and their joint analysis. The most prominent areas of cooperation are organizing conferences and workshops, conducting scientific studies, and exchanging experiences and knowledge, in addition to implementing joint research and intellectual programs.
Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ali stressed that the memorandum of cooperation seeks to open new horizons for effective partnership in the fields of scientific research and the study of contemporary intellectual and social phenomena, with a focus on issues of societal peace and coexistence between cultures, indicating the determination of both parties to advance this cooperation, by encouraging the exchange of visits between researchers, publishing joint papers and studies in Arabic and English, and benefiting from the affiliated media and scientific platforms. For the two parties to disseminate the outcomes of this cooperation, by organizing seminars and discussion sessions between experts to bring viewpoints closer and share scientific visions on international developments.
For his part, Professor Waseem Salman said that the cooperation and partnership with “Trends” will enrich intellectual dialogue between cultures and shed more light on the shared values between societies and peoples, especially in light of the current global challenges that require a common and deep understanding, adding that this will be achieved by launching a series of joint activities and studies during the coming period, which will enhance the role of both the center and the institute as platforms. Pioneers in the field of research, strategic studies and civilizational dialogue.
He added that the signing of this memorandum comes at a time when the international arena is witnessing rapid transformations and multiple challenges, which increases the importance of cooperation in exchanging views and joint analysis of regional and international issues. This cooperation would contribute effectively to presenting modern visions, providing accurate scientific readings and objective analyzes of political, social and intellectual phenomena, and enhancing mutual understanding between the East and the West.
