These practices have sparked widespread dissatisfaction within Egyptian and African sports circles, as they represent a flagrant violation of Olympic values ​​and a violation of the laws regulating the transfer of athletes between… countries, in addition to being a form of illegal immigration and human trafficking by exploiting the social conditions of some young champions.

In this context, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, directed that the file be followed up at the highest level in coordination with all continental, international and Olympic sports institutions, as coordination began with the Egyptian Olympic Committee, the Egyptian Wrestling Federation and the African Wrestling Confederation. And the International Federation of Wrestling.

 

In this regard, several official steps were taken, including:

First: An official letter from the African Confederation of Wrestling to the International Federation of Wrestling and the relevant national federations, to stop any attempts to illegally naturalize Egyptian players.

Second: Emphasizing respect for the sovereignty of the Egyptian state. And its right to preserve its athletes who represent Egypt in international forums.

Third: Including the issue on the discussion table of the International Wrestling Federation to ensure that deterrent measures are taken against any party or individuals proven to be involved in seduction or polarization operations outside legal frameworks.

Fourth: Praise for the unified African movement led by the President The African Confederation and the Vice President of the International Federation, Mr. Fouad Maskout, who affirmed the African continent’s rejection of any practices that affect the integrity of sports or the dignity of players.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports confirms that the Egyptian state, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, deals firmly with any attempts to undermine the rights of its youth or tamper with their national affiliation, and puts the protection of its children at the forefront. Its priorities.

 

The Ministry also calls on all local and international sports federations to cooperate fully to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, which represent a moral and humanitarian threat to the future of global sports.
