"Abu Dhabi Health" Expect 3 memorandums to promote digital innovation and artificial intelligence in the field of healthcare

Dubai, 17 October / WAM / The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi signed 3 strategic memorandums of understanding on the sidelines of its participation in GITEX Global 2025, with the Statista Foundation, Capgemini and the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, with the aim of enhancing the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies, data analytics and digital innovation within the healthcare system.
This step contributes to enhancing areas of research and innovation, enabling knowledge exchange, and accelerating the adoption of scalable, high-impact solutions within the health system in Abu Dhabi, thus enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for innovation.
Her Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, confirmed that the emirate continues to lead the comprehensive transformation in the healthcare sector, by raising the quality of care and therapeutic results, enhancing the digital infrastructure, and accelerating the pace of research and innovation.
She explained that these strategic partnerships establish the foundations of a smart and adaptable health system that puts people first, noting that working side by side with partners opens new horizons that combine data, advanced technologies and science, to achieve a tangible impact that benefits patients inside and outside Abu Dhabi.
Under the memorandum signed with the Statista Foundation, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi will develop a unified approach to key performance indicators for hospital quality, which will enhance the emirate’s position on the global stage in terms of attendance, transparency, and benchmarking of health care quality. This will allow Abu Dhabi hospitals to be supported within international quality standards, including the “Best Hospitals in the World” rankings issued by Newsweek. and Statista. The collaboration will also support future expansion to include more performance indicators, reflecting the department’s commitment to establishing a culture of data-driven excellence.
Cooperation with Capgemini contributes to accelerating the implementation of artificial intelligence applications to enhance operational efficiency, regulatory oversight, and quality of service delivery within the health care system, by developing advanced models that help detect and address cases of fraud, waste, or misuse, and employing artificial intelligence insights in designing policies and work mechanisms to make faster decisions and smarter regulatory oversight, within a common governance framework that ensures Compliance with UAE laws and international standards for artificial intelligence ethics.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s partnership with the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence focuses on accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence technologies, multiple omics sciences, and future technologies into the health care system, including data integration, studying the connection between the brain and the computer, and modernizing the regulatory frameworks for artificial intelligence in the health field, in addition to building national capabilities, empowering research competencies, and joint work in Genomics research, personalized medicine, and the development of AI-powered diagnostics and robotics.
