In classical Arabic… Amal Maher sings for Palestine and Jerusalem

Singer Amal Maher opened the thirty-third session of the Arab Music Festival and Conference at the Cairo Opera House, with a distinguished performance of the song “One Thousand and One Nights” by the late Umm Kulthum, followed by a collection of her own works.
Maher sang a new song dedicated to Palestine and Jerusalem in classical Arabic, which received wide interaction from the audience on social media.
Umm Kulthum was chosen as the “Personality of the Session” to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of her passing, while the festival extends until October 25 with the participation of 83 artists and 21 musical bands from various Arab countries, including Hani Shaker and Saber Al-Rubai.
The festival coincides with a scientific conference entitled “Arabic Music in Light of Digital Transformation,” in which more than 40 researchers from 15 countries participate, in addition to accompanying art exhibitions in the opera halls in Cairo and Alexandria.
