Sharjah, October 19, 2017 – The activities of the first edition of the “Future Mobility” exhibition, which specializes in electric and smart vehicles, attracted more than 5,000 visitors, along with an elite group of senior executives, corporate decision-makers, fleet operators, industry experts, and innovators, which established the event as a major platform that brought together sector leaders under one roof.
The event – which concluded last night – highlighted the position of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in adopting sustainable mobility solutions in line with the strategic direction towards the green economy and in pursuit of achieving the goals of the National Policy for Electric Vehicles, which aims to raise the proportion of electric vehicles to 50% of the total vehicles in the country by 2050, as part of the tireless efforts to reduce emissions from the transportation sector.
The leading international companies that participated in the exhibition showcased the latest technologies of the new generation of electric and hybrid vehicles and innovations in green transportation projects.
Exhibitors provided event visitors with comprehensive presentations on the infrastructure supporting this vital sector, such as advanced charging stations, components of smart driving systems, and integrated renewable energy solutions.
The exhibition halls were distinguished by the presentation of a distinguished set of technologies that anticipate the future of smart driving systems, and the spotlight was on the A2RL Formula 1 self-driving car, which is the most advanced sports vehicle in the world and operates entirely without a driver, relying on advanced technologies in perception, decision-making and control, at a speed exceeding 340 kilometers per hour.
The exhibition provided visitors with a unique opportunity to experience an interactive driving experience through a Formula 1 simulator licensed by AMG and approved by the FIA, allowing them to experience the mental and physical challenge faced by professional Formula 1 drivers.
The conference accompanying the exhibition discussed several main topics, such as the impact of the initiatives and efforts of the UAE government on promoting the green transportation sector, ways to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in commercial fleets, and promising investment opportunities in this field, in addition to discussing the challenges and solutions of the electric vehicle supply chain, preparing the future workforce, and the role of the circular economy in the battery industry.
The conference provided profound practical visions that would advance constructive dialogue and accelerate the adoption of sustainable means of transportation in the region and the world.

He explained that the first edition of the event exceeded expectations after attracting more than 5,000 visitors from decision-makers, international experts and the public, which confirms the regional and international position that the exhibition has held since its inception and embodies the general vision.
