The Red Sea International Film Festival revealed the details of the “Treasures of the Red Sea” program. This year, the program celebrates timeless cinematic masterpieces that have been restored to be shown to a new generation of lovers of the seventh art, in honor of The legacy of Egyptian cinema by showing two rare films by director Ahmed Badrakhan starring the icon of Arab art, Umm Kulthum, after their restoration by the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation and the Media Production City in Egypt. The movie “Aida” (1942), and the film “Ode to Hope” (1937), to be shown in their restored 4K versions for the first time ever.
 
 
“Aida” presents A cinematic painting full of emotion and music, where Umm Kulthum plays the role of a talented farmer’s daughter whose voice transcends the barriers of class and status, becoming a symbol of love, inspiration, and victory over restrictions, in a story that embodies the features of her beginnings as a star of Arab cinema. As for “Ode of Hope,” it paints a poignant picture of a woman torn between her passion for art and the pressures of society, in a narrative that reflects Umm Kulthum’s realistic struggle to empower her voice and impose her presence, and embodies art as an influential means of expressing Self.
 
 
On the international side, the program embraces timeless cinematic masterpieces, the most prominent of which is the film “Amrao Jaan,” one of the classics of Indian cinema, which was restored with 4K resolution this year by the “National Archives.” For films in India» As part of the “National Film Heritage Initiative,” it will be shown for the first time outside India at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
