“Caravan Trail”… Free training programs to revive architecture in historic Jeddah

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts launched free training programs and workshops within “Caravan Darb” with Historic Jeddahduring Ramadan, to train Saudis over 18 years of age in the arts of Islamic architecture and decoration, with the aim of consolidating identity and reviving ancient heritage.
This unique educational initiative, held within the activities of the “Punchmark” company, provides a vital platform for participants to acquire advanced manual skills without any financial costs, in support of creators and developing their innovative artistic capabilities.
The cognitive content of the free training programs focuses on reviewing the historical roots and the development of the units Decorative designs inspired by the details of ancient Jeddah, while integrating the theoretical aspect with direct practical application.
Reviving National Heritage
The trainees receive intensive and free education to draw geometric and plant patterns with extreme precision, in addition to learning how to deal professionally with traditional materials and tools used in the arts of architecture.
These specialized courses seek to enable participants to implement integrated decorative designs that can be employed in contemporary uses, which contributes to Reviving the national heritage with a modern vision starting from the hands of the people of the country.
At the end of the free training program, the participant acquires the full ability to explain the origins of Islamic decorations and their practical application, to be a qualified artistic ambassador for preserving the ancient Saudi traditional arts.
These workshops are held on the second floor of the smart engineering design of “Caravan Darb”, which is entirely dedicated to providing live and practical experiences to the trainees in an inspiring interactive atmosphere.
And this scene is completed. Educational and cultural venue with an upper seat provides trainees and visitors with a charming panoramic view of the festival’s activities held in Arbaeen Lake Park throughout the blessed month, and is available free of charge to all.
