"Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award" Exploring ways to enhance innovation


DUBAI, 22nd October, 2017 (WAM) – The Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Secretary-General of the Award and Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, and in the presence of members of the Board of Advisors and representatives from the most prominent international universities, to review upcoming initiatives and events and discuss ways to enhance the role of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award in… Establishing an effective environment and standards that support the development of knowledge resources and stimulate their exchange around the world.
During the meeting, Bin Huwaireb stressed the Foundation’s firm commitment to building international knowledge partnerships that contribute to enhancing its global impact.
He added, “The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award has made great strides over the past decade to today become a global platform that celebrates creativity and honors individuals who turn their ideas into tangible achievements. Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the Knowledge Summit, we in the Foundation affirm our commitment to continuing this path and stimulating innovation, education and sustainability as basic pillars of human development.”
The meeting touched on global priorities and issues that will constitute basic themes in the upcoming sessions of the award.
Participants praised the contributions made by individuals in the fields of education and knowledge exchange, which consolidates the role of the award as a knowledge initiative that appreciates and honors hard work in the educational sector.
Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Ghafli, a member of the Board of Trustees, representing the United Arab Emirates University, said that knowledge resources today constitute the result of collective work based on cooperation, joint learning, and tireless efforts to work and innovate.
Members of the Board of Trustees set a preliminary schedule of meetings related to the 2026 cycle of the award and proposed holding sessions in April and June of next year to review nominations.
