The UAE participates in the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers in Doha

Doha, October 22nd / WAM / The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, participated in the work of the sixth session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, under the slogan “Local Experiences… Global Achievements: Success Stories in the Islamic World”.
The conference witnessed the participation of labor ministers from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and relevant regional and international organizations, in addition to a number of experts, academics and civil society representatives.
In his speech before the conference, His Excellency Mohammed Saqr Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for the Support Services Sector, head of the Ministry’s delegation, reviewed the UAE’s pioneering experience in building a competitive and attractive labor market for international talent, and the country’s efforts to develop legislation and enhance the participation of women and youth, in addition to the comprehensive social protection system.
He also highlighted the UAE’s position at the forefront of global human development and competitiveness indicators thanks to its forward-looking vision towards the future economy and digital transformation.
During its sessions, the conference addressed the pivotal issues and current challenges in the labor markets in Islamic countries, most notably enhancing employment, expanding social protection networks, developing skills and building capabilities, in addition to keeping pace with digital transformation in a way that enhances the achievement of sustainable development goals and empowers various segments of society.
