"Artificial intelligence in libraries" address "Sharjah Award for Library Literature" Its 26th session

Sharjah, October 22 / WAM / Sharjah Libraries announced the theme of the twenty-sixth session of the Sharjah Award for Library Literature, represented by “Artificial Intelligence in Libraries: Innovation and Impact”, in order to emphasize the importance of employing modern technologies in developing knowledge environments and enriching library services.

The award includes three categories: the research category and is divided into three axes: “Basic Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence,” “User Experience and Accessibility,” and “Technical Structure and Implementation,” in addition to the “Best Arab Library or Information Institution” category and the “Best Project or Practice in the Specialized Field” category.

This came during the activities of the second and closing day of the Sharjah Library Literature Award Forum in its twenty-fifth session, which addressed intellectual and scientific topics that highlighted the dimensions of the relationship between technology and ethical responsibility in content production and the prospects for building libraries of the future based on innovation and digital governance.

The forum recommended the importance of focusing on developing knowledge environments and anticipating the future of libraries in the age of artificial intelligence. The participants called for enhancing the professional development of workers in the library sector through continuous training programs that keep pace with digital transformation and expanding the role of the library through smart partnerships to become a partner in producing knowledge, providing accurate research services, launching programs to eradicate digital literacy and developing smart research skills in society.
