"Red Sea": 5 feature films within the programme "New Saudi cinema"


Detect The Red Sea International Film Festival presents five films within the programme "New Saudi Cinema – for feature films" This year, which embodies the creativity of a new generation of documentary filmmakers in the Kingdom, and is scheduled to be shown during the fifth session of the festival from December 4 to 13 next in historic Jeddah.

The list includes FilmsParticipation: Nour, The Human Tide, Seven Peaks, I Saw Sand Drawing, and Circles of Life, as these works reflect the growing cinematic movement in the Kingdom, and confirm the diversity and creative richness that characterizes the Saudi documentary scene, and the qualitative development it is witnessing in vision and artistic treatment.

A remarkable prosperity

The President explained Executive Director of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Faisal Baltoor, said that the program reflects the remarkable prosperity witnessed by the documentary film industry in the Kingdom, and the artistic maturity reached by Saudi filmmakers, stressing that these works express the depth of the human experience and the spirit of transformation that the Kingdom is experiencing.

He pointed out that the diversity and richness of the films’ themes highlight the human experiences that the Kingdom abounds with. And cultural events that deserve to be told. This program is usually an extension of an inspiring cinematic career that contributes to consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a thriving center for the documentary film industry in the region.
