Dubai Residency launches a special access stamp for delegations of the “Arab Reading Challenge 2025”

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai announced the launch of a special arrival stamp for delegations of the ninth session of the “Arab Reading Challenge 2025”, which will be included in their passports upon their arrival at Dubai airports, in appreciation of their efforts in establishing a culture of reading and knowledge among the younger generations in the Arab world.

The administration stated that this seal represents a celebration of an initiative that is considered the largest of its kind in the Arab world, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, with the aim of encouraging reading among students in the Arab world through the commitment of more than a million students to read fifty million books every academic year.

Since its launch, the initiative has been established as one of the most prominent cognitive and cultural projects in the region, based on the belief in His Highness’s vision that: “Reading is the beginning of the path to a better future based on science and knowledge… and the nations that read hold the reins of progress.”

Deputy Director of the General Department of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, said: “In Dubai, everyone who carries an idea or a message of knowledge is an honored guest. Giving the Arab Reading Challenge delegations this special seal is an appreciation for their status, and an expression of our commitment to supporting the cultural movement launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Just as the initiative made reading a bridge for communication between generations, we make the experience of arriving in Dubai a moment that embodies this. Meaning.
For his part, Assistant Director General of the Air Ports Affairs Sector at the Dubai Authority, Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqeeti, explained, “Applying the special seal at Dubai airports is not just a symbolic measure, but rather a message of appreciation and celebration, reflecting what the UAE represents as an incubator of culture and knowledge. From the first moment of their arrival, we are keen for our guests to live an experience that reflects the spirit of Dubai, a city that combines intelligence in services and warmth in reception.”

The Dubai Residency confirms that this step comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to provide an integrated travel experience that combines innovation and humanity, and enhances Dubai’s position as a global center that receives minds and talents from various parts of the world, and translates its vision that reading and knowledge will be the basis for a brighter future for future generations.
