Messi extends his contract with Inter Miami

Argentine Lionel Messi has finally agreed to a new contract with Inter Miami, ending a long period of anticipation regarding his future and ensuring his stay with the team competing in the American Football League, which is preparing to play in its new stadium.
The contract extension was announced today, Thursday, one day before Inter Miami’s opening match in the qualifying rounds of the competition against Nashville, where Messi’s team, ranked third in the Eastern Conference, will host the first match of that series of three meetings tomorrow evening, local time.
Details of the terms of the new contract were not immediately revealed, although Inter Miami was striving to conclude a deal extending until 2027 or 2028.
There is no doubt that Messi’s participation for two or three additional seasons will boost ticket sales for the stadium that Inter Miami is building near Miami International Airport. The team has been selling ticket packages and reserving seats in the new stadium for more than a year, assuming that the player who won the last World Cup in 2022 will remain with the club.
