Abu Dhabi Police implements training courses in the field of disaster victim identification in partnership with ETAF

ABU DHABI, 24th October, 2017 (WAM) – Abu Dhabi Police implemented a series of advanced specialized training programs in the field of Disaster Victim Identification (DVI), in partnership with the European Disaster Victim Identification Center (ETAF), as part of its strategic plans to enhance the readiness of the integrated response system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The programs included advanced theoretical and applied aspects in the fields of recovery, collecting information from victims’ families, and returning victims to their homelands after identifying them, with the aim of developing the technical and operational capabilities and associated administrative aspects of national cadres from the relevant authorities, and enabling them to perform their tasks with high efficiency in the various stages of disaster management for the purposes of identifying unidentified bodies.

The courses were implemented with the participation of a number of health, community, judicial and local authorities in the emirate, emphasizing the importance of integrating institutional roles in crisis management and enhancing cooperation between partners to ensure a unified and rapid response in accordance with international standards.

This cooperation embodies Abu Dhabi Police’s proactive approach to developing national capabilities and consolidating international partnerships, in line with INTERPOL’s global standards and reflects its commitment to excellence in the fields of specialized humanitarian and security work.
