“Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat” calls on pilgrims to adhere to the health requirements for the Hajj season

The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat confirmed that the safety of pilgrims in the United Arab Emirates represents a top priority for the state and its wise leadership, stressing the need for pilgrims to adhere to health, awareness and guidance instructions issued by the competent authorities, in a way that ensures the performance of rituals in a safe and healthy environment.
The authority explained that the competent authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a set of health requirements and immunizations that must be met by those coming to perform Hajj or seasonal work in Hajj areas for the season 1447 AH / 2026 AD, noting that the requirements include acknowledging that the pilgrim is free of diseases that conflict with the minimum physical ability to perform the rituals, such as failure of one of the major organs in the body or neurological or psychological diseases that hinder Cognition, or aging accompanied by dementia, and pregnancy in the last three months, as well as active infectious diseases such as pulmonary tuberculosis, or hemorrhagic fevers, and active cancer cases that receive chemotherapy or the like.
As for the necessary immunizations and vaccines that the country’s pilgrims for the upcoming season 2026 AD must obtain, they are: the meningitis and seasonal influenza vaccine, well before the Hajj date, and completing other recommended immunizations to prevent infectious diseases, such as Covid-19 vaccines, and others according to the condition of each pilgrim.
The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat said that, based on the results of the medical examinations and screening operations, it will, in cooperation with health authorities within the country, sort the cases and ensure that the health status of each pilgrim conforms to the approved requirements, in order to ensure their safety and to ensure the performance of the rituals in a healthy and safe environment.
The authority concluded by calling on all pilgrims to fully adhere to the health guidelines and instructions issued by the competent authorities in the UAE and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in order to enhance the safety of all and facilitate the performance of the rituals with complete reassurance and ease.
