ABU DHABI, October 24 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the “Brisbane Economic Communication and Partnerships” Business Forum, with the aim of exploring investment and commercial cooperation opportunities and strengthening bilateral relations between Abu Dhabi and Brisbane, in the presence of an Australian delegation and representatives of government agencies and the business community in the emirate.

The Australian delegation, which included more than 40 representatives from Brisbane’s business sectors and government agencies, was led by Councilor Fiona Cunningham, Deputy Mayor of Brisbane, City Council Leader for Finance and Governance, and Coorparoo District Council member.

This forum comes at a time when economic relations are witnessing rapid growth, supported by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Australia, as the value of bilateral non-oil trade during the first half of 2025 increased by 33.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, to reach 3 billion US dollars, with expectations of it rising from 4.2 billion dollars in 2024 to more than 10 billion dollars by 2032.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, First Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, stressed that the forum reflects the depth of relations and the Chamber’s keenness to develop cooperation with Brisbane, noting that the meeting opens new horizons for partnership between private sector institutions and enhances joint efforts to build a diversified and sustainable economy. He added that the Chamber continues to support initiatives that consolidate Abu Dhabi’s position as a reliable global partner.

Advisor Fiona Cunningham stressed the importance of the forum as an effective platform to enhance communication and explore new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of innovation, sustainability and infrastructure, opening promising horizons for joint investment.
