Dr. said. Al-Shehri said that the patient came to the hospital due to shortness of breath with effort, which made it difficult for him to walk and move, and he frequented the hospital due to the presence of fluid on the lungs. He was subjected to careful examinations that included an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests, an echocardiogram, and a cardiac catheterization, which revealed a blockage in the coronary arteries, with severe narrowing and calcification of the aortic valve. After the case was diagnosed, He was admitted directly to the cardiac resuscitation room and given blood-thinning medications. Meanwhile, a two-stage treatment plan was drawn up. In the first, an emergency catheterization procedure was performed on him, in which the coronary arteries were opened and medical stents were installed, and the blood passed naturally to the heart with complete success, praise be to God. He left the hospital in good health, and in the second stage, the aortic valve was successfully replaced after "3" Months after the first operation, using the interventional catheter technique, and entry through the femoral artery with conscious sedation, and without the need for open-heart surgery, then he was transferred to intensive care for monitoring, before he left for his home in good health after less than "48" An hour.
It is worth noting that the hospital’s cardiac catheterization unit treats heart clots, performs diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization for patients, as well as treats blood vessels and arteries, in addition to patients who suffer from clogged arteries, circulatory failure, or congenital heart defects, and installs pacemakers, with the possibility of treating cardiac electrical arrhythmias through thermal cauterization or cooling. Valves are also implanted through interventional cardiac catheterization.
