Saber Al-Rubai concludes the Arab Music Festival…and brings down the curtain on 10 days of magic and singing

In the presence of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, President of the Egyptian Opera House, the curtain came down on the activities of the thirty-third session of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, in a full-scale concert filled with an atmosphere of authentic art and joy, performed by the Tunisian star Saber Al-Rubai and the Egyptian star Soma, concluding ten days of musical creativity that celebrated the genius of the planet Umm Kulthum in Its fiftieth anniversary.

 

 

 

In a solemn celebratory atmosphere, the Minister of Culture handed over prizes for the festival’s competitions to the winners of the children, youth, and Arab takht bands, stressing that these competitions represent an essential source for discovering new talents and preserving the identity of Arab singing.

 

The results of the competitions were as follows:

 

Dr. Ratiba Al-Hafni Children’s Competition: First place was won by Saif Amr Salem, second place was won by Farida Islam Sayed, and third place was shared equally between Sweim Sameh Muhammad Ali and Mustafa Muhammad Qaddoura.

Singing Competition for Youth: The first place was won by Amr Adel Youssef, the second place was won by Ahmed Essam El Din, Ziyad Mohamed Kamal, Amr Mohamed Salam, and the third place was won by Amira Dahi, Rahma Dahi, Amal Ahmed Al-Sayed.

The Arab Takht Competition: The artist’s takht Yahya Ramadan and Sawt Misr’s takht won equally, and the award was received by the artist Mohamed Raafat Ahmed.

The crowds lived a classy evening of music that began with a song by the singer. Soma, who lit up the stage With her captivating presence, she presented a collection of her most famous songs, including If We Love Her, This is My Love, I Can’t Say, Repentance, What Is in My Eyes, I Lie to You, and Fayrouz’s Medley, so with her refined feelings, she moved the audience’s conscience between nostalgia and joy.

 

Then it was the turn of the Arab star Saber Al-Rubai, who lit up the stage with a collection of his most beautiful works in which he mixed Intrigued by sweetness, including the one we shared, I have conveyed my apology, The glory of the beloved, Simply, on fire, Leave me alone, Mazyana, My new life, I miss you so much, The days have passed, I challenge the world, Sidi Al-Mansour, Barca, so the conclusion of the festival was a symphony of authentic Arab singing.

 

In his closing speech, Dr. Ahmed Fouad emphasized Hanno said that the Arab Music Festival and Conference represents a major artistic platform concerned with musical identity and gives young people the opportunity to express their talents, indicating that the Ministry of Culture will continue its support for all initiatives that preserve heritage and enrich public conscience.

 

 He greeted the management of the Egyptian Opera House headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam and the festival’s work team for what They made a sincere effort to make this session a success, which came at a level befitting Egypt’s cultural and artistic leadership in the Arab world.

 

It is worth noting that the 33rd session of the festival, which bore the name Umm Kulthum’s Planet of the East, was organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Egyptian Opera House, and continued for ten days, and witnessed 41 artistic concerts with the participation of 83 artists on Cairo’s stages. Alexandria and Damanhour, in addition to a scientific conference in which 41 researchers from 15 Arab and foreign countries participated, and honored 10 artistic icons who left immortal imprints on the path of Arab music.

 

The events were also accompanied by two exhibitions of Arabic calligraphy arts, the first by the artist Yousry Al-Mamlouk in the Salah Taher Hall, and the second by the artist Hassan Hassouba in the Ziad Bakir Hall in the Music Library, in Emphasizing the unity of creativity between word, melody, calligraphy, and color.

 

Thus, the festival brought down its curtain on a new cycle of beauty and creativity, which brought to mind the scent of authentic singing and confirmed that Arabic music is still capable of bringing together generations and uniting consciences in one melody, which is the melody of love. And life.
