The Regulatory Authorities Coalition announced International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by The Food and Drug General Authority, with full membership, becoming the first regulatory body for The Middle East and North Africa, which obtains this membership.
This accession crowns the Kingdom’s global leadership in the field of pharmaceutical control, and enhances its influential presence among decision-makers at the international level.
It also embodies the international community’s recognition of the status and advanced level achieved by the Kingdom, represented by: "Food and medicine"In the field of drug product safety and the continuous development of its regulatory system, in accordance with the highest international standards.

The pharmaceutical regulatory system

Enhancing drug safety
The announcement came during the organization’s annual summit (ICMRA) held in Amsterdam during the period from 21 to 23 October, with the participation of the CEO of ICMRA. "Food and medicine" Professor Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhaie, this announcement enables the Authority to actively participate in formulating policies and decisions related to the organization’s activities, and approving annual projects and plans. Which reflects the confidence of the international community in the pioneering role played by the authority in promoting drug safety.
(ICMRA) is the global international association that includes the heads of the drug regulatory and supervisory bodies from various countries of the world, and aims to raise the level of cooperation and coordination between these bodies to enhance the effectiveness, safety and quality of medicines and vaccines, through the exchange of regulatory information and expertise and unifying efforts in health crises.
