The launch of the Arab Civil Society and Youth Conference at the headquarters of the Arab League
Cairo, October 27 / WAM / The activities of the conference “Civil Society and Arab Youth…Partners for Elevating Challenges” were launched today at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, which is being held under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and in cooperation with the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development, in celebration of the eightieth anniversary of the founding of the League of Arab States.
The conference witnessed a large Arab presence, including official and youth delegations and representatives of Arab youth, in an event that reflects the spirit of Arab solidarity and the role of youth in supporting the process of sustainable development. The conference lasts for four days.
The opening session was titled “Civil Society and Governments are Partners in Implementing Development Plans,” where participants discussed ways to enhance partnership and integration between state institutions and civil society organizations in supporting Arab development plans, building youth capacities and enabling them to contribute effectively to the renaissance of their societies.
The conference aims to highlight the experiences and achievements of Arab youth and youth in the fields of education, innovation, green economy, technology, and health, in addition to consolidating positive values and behaviors, and exchanging visions on pioneering initiatives and innovative solutions to development issues.
The conference will be accompanied by the Arab Youth Festival for Culture, Arts and Heritage Revival, and a heritage exhibition entitled “The Origin of My Arabism,” with the participation of representatives from 22 Arab countries, and a number of academic, community and media institutions, as well as the presence of figures from regional and international organizations concerned with Arab affairs.
The Central Administration for Youth Development participates through the members of the Egyptian delegation who won in the fields of scientific innovations and initiatives within the “Mawhibti” competition, in addition to artistic and cultural performances by the “Kids Show” teams, and the “Krafty” program for craft products.
