Launching the sixth session of the “Pink Hope 2025 March”

The Community Development Authority in Dubai, in cooperation with the Volunteer Geniuses team, organized the sixth session of the “Walk of Pink Hope 2025” event in the Qur’anic Park, with the participation of Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, and Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Rakad Al Ameri, former member of the Federal National Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Cancer Society, along with an elite group of community figures and leaders concerned with health and social responsibility, and a large number of volunteers and community members.
The event comes within the framework of the Authority’s efforts to establish community awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, and to support those infected and recovering psychologically and socially, as part of the “Year of Society 2025” activities aimed at enhancing the quality of life and consolidating the values of human cohesion.
Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid confirmed that the “Pink Hope Walk” represents a practical translation of Dubai’s message of human empowerment and promoting health awareness as part of a sustainable community development system, noting that the strength we see in the faces of survivors is a reflection of the spirit of hope and determination that characterizes our society.
She said: “This humanitarian initiative reflects the values of solidarity and giving instilled in us by the Founding Fathers, and highlights the position of women in our society as a source of inspiration, strength and hope. Awareness is not an individual responsibility, but rather a societal duty in which everyone participates to protect life, preserve the family, and promote awareness and prevention.”
She added that the Authority, through its community programs and volunteer partnerships, seeks to build a supportive environment for women at all stages of their lives, and to empower them psychologically, socially, and health-wise, stressing that the Pink Hope March has become an annual symbol of community solidarity around the values of humanity, hope, and wellness.
For her part, Reem Obaid Al-Awabid, Director of the Community Programs Department at the Community Development Authority, stressed that the “Pink Hope Walk” embodies Dubai’s community spirit based on solidarity and humanitarian support, noting that health awareness represents an integral part of the societal culture that enhances the quality of life.
She said: “Prevention begins with awareness, and awareness begins with dialogue and openness. Our participation today is a message of solidarity with every woman who struggles, and every family that embraces hope and instils strength in the hearts of those they love. This march not only celebrates those who have recovered, but rather confirms that psychological and social support is an essential pillar in the recovery journey.”
Kawthar Al-Rahali, leader of the Volunteering Geniuses team, also said: “We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the Community Development Authority in organizing this humanitarian event, which reflects our commitment as volunteers to supporting mental and community health issues. Our participation in the Pink Hope Walk is an extension of our mission to spread the culture of giving, and enhance the spirit of solidarity with everyone facing health challenges, especially women struggling on the journey of recovery.”
The march, in its sixth session, was a purposeful community event that reflects the growing community awareness of health and prevention issues, and embodies an effective partnership between government and private institutions, public benefit organizations and volunteers in supporting national initiatives with a humanitarian and social impact.
The event witnessed distinguished participation from the Dubai Police, which presented a musical performance accompanied by the participation of volunteer and bicycle teams, the Dubai Municipality, which provided the event site in the Qur’anic Park, the Dubai Ambulance Corporation, which participated with a team of volunteers to provide first aid services, in addition to the Emirates Cancer Patients Association, which presented inspiring examples of stories of recovered women.
The event concluded with a symbolic march under the slogan “Pink Hope,” in which attendees and volunteers participated in an atmosphere expressing community solidarity and psychological support for female patients, affirming Dubai’s commitment to building a conscious and united society that makes prevention a way of life, and hope a path to recovery and prosperity.
