المملكة: Mecca Education classifies 37 male and female students with disabilities for international competitions in the sports track

More than one hundred male and female students with disabilities participated in the sports competitions organized by the General Administration of Education in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region as part of the initiative General education schools, programs and institutes for people with disabilities.
Students’ excellence and sustained support from leadership
Dr. Al-Jalouk praised the excellence of the students and the level of competition among them, and the services provided by the association and its employees, stressing that these efforts embody wise leadership support for people with disabilities in various regions of the Kingdom and establish the principle of integration and equal educational opportunities.
Sports Path Initiative
He explained that the initiative The sports track includes three main sports: bocce, which is designated for people with motor disabilities, which contributes to improving motor coordination and accuracy. Thirty-seven male and female students have been internationally classified, allowing them to participate in external competitions, in addition to the game of bocce, which is directed at people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, whose activities will begin next week, in addition to the goalball game, which is specially designed for the blind and visually impaired, and enhances group interaction and sensory attention.
The doctor pointed out that Al-Jalouq pointed out that the initiative is the result of fruitful cooperation with the Saudi Boccia Federation, as eighty special education teachers were qualified before the start of the initiative, and a number of male and female referees accredited to arbitrate in these competitions were also trained.
The Assistant for Educational Affairs confirmed that the sports track represents one of the qualitative possibilities for developing the capabilities of male and female students with disabilities and discovering their sporting talents, indicating that the initiative will be subject to evaluation and development according to the comments of the beneficiaries and parents with the aim of expanding Its scope during the coming years is to achieve the goals of comprehensive education and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to empower all segments of society.
